USF Polytechnic provides a 2+2 bachelor's program. It allows students to complete the first two years (approximately 60 semester credit hours) at their local community college or another college or university and the last two years (approximately 60 semester credit hours) with USF Polytechnic to obtain a bachelor's degree.
The department offers this degree at USF Polytechnic and on the Sarasota and Tampa campuses. Some courses may also be taken at the downtown Tampa USF Channelside campus.
The Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT) at USF Polytechnic:
- These courses are primarily offered during days and evenings, most commonly in a once-per-week format.
- These courses are offered in a traditional face-to-face, blended (combination of web-delivery with reduced traditional face-to-face meetings) and web-based (fully online) formats. Many of the courses - and all of them in the future - are available entirely online. Some online courses are synchronous, where all students "meet" online on a set day of the week and at a specific time. Other online courses are asynchronous, where there is no day and time at which all students are online together. Instead, students proceed on their own schedule, doing the work when it suits them.
- Full-time students taking 12 credit hours per semester should expect to finish in approximately two years. Part-time students can set their schedule that best fits their needs.
