We are so excited that you have chosen USF Polytechnic to pursue your college education. Now that you have been accepted, your next step is to sign up for an orientation session where you have the opportunity to experience what it is like to be a true USF Bull. We know that college is an exciting and challenging time, and our program is designed to help make your transition to USF Polytechnic a successful one.
What exactly is orientation?
New Student Orientation is a mandatory requirement set by the State of Florida and the University of South Florida. In this session you will learn about USF Polytechnic, the resources available, important USF policies, instructional technologies, financial aid and the registration process. Orientation is designed to help with your transition to USF Polytechnic and to enable you to become a successful student. The cost of orientation is $35 and is automatically charged to your student account once you register for classes.
Orientation Registration Spring 2010
To complete orientation you have two options:
Face-to-Face Orientation
The first option is to attend our face-to-face orientation held on the USF Polytechnic campus in the Lakeland Technology Building (LTB) Auditorium. Orientation will last approximately two hours. Space for this session is limited and will be filled on a first-registered/first-reserved basis.
Spring 2010 Semester Orientation - Friday, December 11, 2009 at 2:30 PM
Event Cancelation Notice - This event is subject to cancelation three days prior if the number registered is less than 25. If this becomes necessary then students will be notified by email and directed to the online site to complete their orientation session.
It is important to note that you can only attend the orientation session for the semester in which you have been admitted.
Online Orientation
You may also complete orientation online. The online orientation is designed to be completed in approximately 90 minutes. Using streaming video and links to important information you will be required to answer several quiz questions throughout the presentation. To meet the orientation requirement you must score 70% or better.
The online session will be open and available for viewing from November 2, 2009 to January 8, 2010.
Your orientation registration will be processed by USFP within two business days.
Once processed, you will receive a confirmation email to the address provided in the registration form. Prior to completing either the face-to-face orientation or the on-line version, you must print a copy of the Orientation Manual. This manual is referred throughout the orientation presentations and is a helpful tool during your undergraduate career at USF.

After you have taken one of these orientation sessions you must retain Polytechnic as your Home Campus for your first semester at USF.
