Mariana Lopez of the University of South Florida Lakeland has been awarded a Sallie Mae Fund First in Family scholarship. A senior from Winter Haven, Lopez is majoring in Applied Science with a concentration of Early Childhood Development.

Developed in partnership with the Hispanic College Fund, the Sallie Mae Fund First in Family scholarship program provides scholarships to undergraduate Hispanic Americans who are the first in their family to attend college.
