Tracey Cayson has received the University of South Florida Polytechnic's 2008 Outstanding Staff Award. The highest honor given to administration and staff employees, it recognizes excellence and a high level of performance and standards that support the overall values and service standards of the USF system.
Cayson serves as office manager for the Division of Education. A native of Lakeland, she lives in Winter Haven.
"First, the fact that those who nominated me felt I was deserving of the award is both wonderful and humbling," says Cayson. "It also makes me happy because it means that I'm doing my job, and that is my priority -- to get the job done right and to make each experience as positive as possible for all involved."
According to Assistant Professor Wendy-lou Greenidge, who nominated Cayson for the award, "Tracey is an extremely meticulous employee who always executes her duties and responsibilities in the most efficient and professional manner. Within the Division of Education, Tracey is a very resourceful person, and she has significantly contributed to the success and organization of faculty and staff. She also actively contributes to campus life through her participation and service on several committees. Tracey's contributions have resulted in improved departmental performance, and she exemplifies the vision and values of this institution."
Assistant Professor Ruth Sylvester also recommended Cayson for the Outstanding Staff Award.
"As a faculty member in the Division of Education at USFP, I have frequent interactions with Tracey and always find her upbeat, professional and extremely patient," says Sylvester. "Having such an efficient and organized person in our division helps us do our jobs more effectively. I'm thankful for Tracey and the positive contributions she makes to our division."
Cayson and other award recipients will be honored at an awards ceremony Sept. 29
